Polishing front Fork

Polishing Front Fork

To make your bike look perfect, it is also important to get the aluminum look new.

You have to be careful, since aluminum is fairly soft, so it scratches very easy.

It is not that important what compound you use, but surely important what kind of disks and cloth you use to polish it.

First, all the old clear coating has to be removed.
This will take up most of the time.

Do not use any steel brushes or sandpaper that is to grainy, since this will put deep scratches in the material, that are difficult to get rid of.

Use a fibre brush-disk like shown on the photos, and waterproof sandpaper with a 400 grain or finer.

When you are satisfied with the result, degrease the aluminum, and use clear spray paint, to give it the finishing touch, and protect the aluminum from corroding
