Big-End bearing problems

Many People talk on the Internet about the failure of the 3rd Big-End bearing
on there ZL-900, ZL-1000, ZRX-1100, ZZR-1100,
that can result in the Piston-Rod finding its way through the sump of your engine.

The main cause is, lack of oil pressure.

From the oil-pump, the main oil line devides into two main lines.
One line is only providing one half of the crankshaft and two pistons.
This side is o.k.

The weak half is providing the whole oil supply for the head as well.
Since the cylinder-head is consuming lots of oil, the crankshaft and pistons of that half
is not supplied with enough oil, especially when the bearings wear off, they are losing
a lot of oil as well.

The following by-passes can be very functional to tackle this problem.

Defective Big-end bearing 3rd piston.

This is how the bearing looks.

External By-pass

Internal By-pass. Cheap and easy to make.
